Wedding bells are set to ring for Malaysian actress Koe Yeet.

The 32-year-old star is known for playing the lead in the Singaporean period series Titoudao: Inspired By The True Story Of A Wayang Star (2020) and its second season Titoudao: Dawn Of A New Stage (2023). She announced the news on Dec 1.

In an Instagram post, she shared several photos of the proposal, which appeared to be by the beach, while obscuring her fiance’s face.

In one picture, her fiance carried her on his shoulder while she held a bouquet of flowers. In another, she could be seen running into his arms. There was also a close-up of an engagement ring on her finger.

In an Instagram Story about the engagement, she said: “My heart is bursting with joy.”

Little is known about Koe’s fiance. She revealed on Instagram in 2020 that she was in a long-distance relationship with an unnamed man, although the post has disappeared from her account. It is not known if the then-boyfriend is her current fiance.

News of her engagement has been greeted with congratulations from her peers in the industry, such as Hong Kong singer-actress Gigi Leung, Malaysian actor Jaspers Lai and Singaporean stars Chen Yixin and Joel Choo.

Koe, who made her debut as a child actress, became known to Singaporean audiences after appearing in director Jack Neo’s comedy film Ah Long Pte Ltd (2008).

The prolific content creator, with close to a million followers, is a lawyer.

She took a break from entertainment to pursue a law degree at the University of Reading in England. She graduated in 2016 and was officially called to the bar in 2018. She worked at a law firm for three months upon returning to Malaysia, before deciding that the legal profession was not for her. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
