Hong Kong singer-actor Nicholas Tse has been enjoying the winter slopes with his family.
The 44-year-old, who is a snowboarding enthusiast, posted rare photos of his son Lucas, 17, hitting the slopes with him in Japan.
He posted pictures to his social media accounts on Jan 6, with two photos of himself on a powdery snow slope, and two of his son. Lucas’ face is obscured, as he is sporting snowboarding headgear in the pictures.
The teen is Tse’s first child from his marriage to Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung, whom he divorced in 2011 after five years. They have a younger son, Quintus, 14.
The photos are believed to be from Tse’s family holiday over Christmas to Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan.
Multiple netizens on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu reported that they bumped into Tse over the Christmas holiday season, with some posting pictures they took with the star.
Event organiser and celebrity manager Florence Chan said on Instagram on Dec 25 that her close friend Deborah Lee, who is Tse’s mother and a former actress, celebrated Christmas on a winter holiday with her children, granddaughter and grandsons, suggesting that Tse’s sister, Jennifer, and her five-year-old daughter Sara were also on the trip.
Hashtags in the post also named Nicholas and Jennifer.
The post came with a video, reportedly taken by Quintus, of Lee trying her hand at a coin-operated claw machine in Japan and getting a Snoopy plush toy on her first try. In it, a teenage boy filming the video can be heard exclaiming, “Grandma!”, in excitement when she managed to grab the toy successfully.
Tse and Cheung rarely post photos with their sons and have largely kept their family life private since their divorce, although Tse has been spotted snowboarding with his sons in previous years as well.
After his divorce, Tse rekindled his romance with Chinese pop diva Faye Wong, whom he first dated in the early 2000s.
He also began pivoting his career towards his culinary talent, becoming a celebrity chef when he launched his food travelogue show Chef Nic in 2014.
Cheung went on to have another son, Marcus, in 2018, but did not reveal the identity of the father. Tse later clarified that he was not the child’s father.
A netizen on Xiaohongshu reported that she bumped into Cheung on holiday at Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa on Dec 28.
The fan posted several wefies taken with Cheung, who was masked up, sporting a visor and glasses.
