Hong Kong actress Michelle Wai has tied the knot with her partner of two years, Dr Kenley Chau.
The couple exchanged vows at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Hong Kong's Mid-Levels on Feb 16, surrounded by family and friends.
The event was graced by notable guests, including Hong Kong-based Malaysian singer Gin Lee, celebrity couple Carlos Chan and Shiga Lin, Emperor Entertainment Group chairman Albert Yeung and more.
In a poignant moment, Wai’s father was visibly emotional as he placed the bridal veil over his daughter’s head.
When asked if he felt reluctant to let her go, he simply replied: “Don’t ask.”
Wai, 40, was also teary-eyed as she made her entrance into the church, admitting that she couldn’t help but cry.
Later that evening, Wai and Chau hosted a lavish banquet with 24 tables at the five-star Island Shangri-La hotel in Admiralty.
Former TVB actress May Chan Ka-kai, who attended the dinner, shared a photo with Wai on Instagram, writing: "Eating a buffet today! It’s Michelle’s wedding day. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and the early arrival of your child."
The post also featured a snapshot of the invitation card sent by the couple, along with the gifts they had prepared for their guests as a token of appreciation.
Among the gifts were a scented candle from the luxury brand Jo Malone, reportedly valued at HK$500 (RM284), and skincare products from popular medical skin care brand SkinCeuticals.
Wai and Chau, the founder of a medical aesthetics company, held their betrothal ceremony, as per traditional Chinese pre-wedding customs, on Jan 9.
The actress, known for keeping her private life under wraps, surprised fans in June last year when she announced her engagement on social media.
