Australian rapper Felix, a member of K-pop sensation Stray Kids, was involved in a minor traffic accident on Feb 15.
The 24-year-old was returning home after the boy band’s fan meeting in Incheon city, South Korea, when a shuttle bus – which was moving slowly behind the vehicle he was in – collided with its left rear side.
“The accident itself was minor, but the momentary shift in Felix’s weight onto his arm caused him to collide with the armrest inside the vehicle, resulting in a fracture,” the band’s agency JYP Entertainment posted on their official social media accounts on the morning of Feb 16.
“Immediately after the accident, Felix was quickly taken to the hospital for a thorough examination, where medical professionals advised that he needs adequate rest and proper treatment for the time being.”
JYP returned to social media on the afternoon of Feb 16 to provide an update.
The agency said they visited several emergency rooms, but the medical examination took longer than usual as the accident happened late at night on a weekend.
“Later on, following the medical staff’s opinion, Felix was transferred to a higher-level general hospital, where he underwent an MRI scan and was examined by specialised faculty,” it said.
“Upon additional examination, it was determined that the fracture line seen on the initial X-ray was a childhood injury and, at the moment, there’s a pinched nerve near that area.”
The agency said it would ensure Felix goes through the necessary treatment based on the medical team’s findings.
JYP had said in an earlier statement that Felix would be missing Stray Kids’ fan meeting on Feb 16 as a result of the injury.
The eight-member group were holding their fifth fan meeting – SKZ 5’Clock – at Inspire Arena from Feb 14 to 16. They had held the fourth edition in Seoul in March 2024.
Stray Kids – also consisting of Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Seungmin and I.N – will resume their Dominate World Tour in March. They will begin with performances in Santiago, Chile, on March 27 and 28, before travelling to other countries such as Brazil, Peru, Mexico and the United States. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
