Blackpink unveils stadium-filled world tour schedule

Blackpink (pic) has revealed part of its upcoming world tour schedule, putting on display its global prominence as it prepares to perform at some of the largest venues around the world.

According to YG Entertainment, the tour will kick off on July 5 and 6 at Goyang Stadium in Seoul. From there, the group will take the stage at major stadiums across the world, including Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, Soldier Field in Chicago, Rogers Center in Toronto and Citi Field in New York.

The quartet will also perform at Stade de France in Paris, Ippodromo La Maura in Milan, the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain, Wembley Stadium in London and the Tokyo Dome in Japan – totaling 10 international stops. More tour dates and destinations will be announced later.

With the tour, Blackpink will become the first K-pop girl group to hold a solo concert at Goyang Stadium as well as the first to perform at Wembley Stadium. Blackpink will also be just the second K-pop act ever to hold a solo concert at Wembley, following BTS in 2019.

YG Entertainment expressed confidence in the scale of the world tour, stating, "All of the announced venues are stadium-level, capable of hosting tens of thousands of fans. This tour will further solidify Blackpink’s position as a top-tier global group." – The Korea Herald/Asia News Network
