Former K-pop singer Shoo is now working as a farmer and entrepreneur.

The 43-year-old, who was one-third of the now-defunct girl group S.E.S, recently shared her journey into this exciting new chapter on social media.

“I can’t sleep and I’m working. I look like a zombie. I have so much to do, but I’m enjoying the process of completing things little by little,” she said, as quoted by Korean outlet Chosun Biz.

The post was accompanied by photos of her 4,950 sq m farm, along with snapshots of her packaging and inspecting products.

Shoo, whose real name is Yoo Soo-young, ventured into the farming industry through a friend’s recommendation.

She now grows centella asiatica, a herb known for its anti-oxidant properties, commonly used to soothe, treat and improve skin conditions.

The former idol is also using her produce to create products for her health supplement company Cicagen.

BILL FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

According to Chosun Biz, Shoo was previously sued for failing to repay gambling debts totalling 700 million won (RM2.14mil).

The report added that she was accused of habitual gambling, involving hundreds of millions of won across 26 instances abroad between August 2016 and May 2018.

In February 2019, Shoo was sentenced to six months in jail, with two years of probation and 80 hours of community service.

Over the years, she has sold vegetables, clothes and even worked in a restaurant to repay her debts, according to China Press.
