Malaysian music composer and music director Lee Sze Wan died on Aug 9. She was 47.
Details surrounding her death are not known at press time.
Singer Misha Omar shared the sad news on Instagram Stories, posting several photos of herself with Lee taken on various occasions, including one of them performing together on stage.
Misha accompanied one of the photos with Michael Jackson’s Gone Too Soon, writing: “Holding you in my heart, forever. Until we meet again.”
Lee composed Misha’s 2020 song Tanpa Relamu and served as the music director for the singer’s concert in 2025.
She was also the music director for last year’s Empat Live in Kuala Lumpur, which featured siblings Anuar Zain and Ziana Zain, as well as Ernie Zakri and Syamel.
One of Lee’s earliest collaborations as listed by diskograf.com was with Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza for the song Penghiburku, featuring Joe Flizzow.
Throughout her career, Lee also worked with Anuar on Selamat Malam, Aina Abdul on Imaji and Dayang Nurfaizah on Akhirnya Bahagia, among others.
Dayang and Anuar also took to Instagram Stories to pay tribute to Lee.
Anuar wrote: “A great loss for all of us. You will be deeply missed, Sze. You will always remain in our hearts.
“Thank you for the beautiful music, for sharing your incredible talent with us, and for being such a wonderful music director and, most importantly, a dear friend to us all.”
