This Deepavali will be extra joyous for Shanjeev Kumar Magithalam, 44 and his wife, Kogila Vani Kanappen, 41, and especially for their six-year-old twin daughters, Tharini and Thanissha, who can now go back to Johor to celebrate with their grandparents with the state borders being reopened.

The last time they celebrated Deepavali together as a family was before the pandemic, two years ago.
