CHANDRA Prasad Kachhipati has been involved with fair trade in handicrafts in his native Nepal for over 20 years. Now the president of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO)-Asia he was in Malaysia recently for a regional meeting on fair trade.

“For normal trade in handicrafts, the focus is on profit, for fair trade the main thing is to uplift marginalised people and institute social development,” he says.
