Education for all is a reality for stateless children and children of immigrants, right in the heart of an oil palm plantation in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
LADANG Taliwas Pusat Bimbingan No.11 sits on what was formerly labourers’ quarters in an oil palm plantation in Lahad Datu, Sabah. It has been refurbished as a classroom which accommodates 37 pupils today. This is one of 128 learning centres set up by non-governmental organisation Humana Child Aid Society Sabah to reach out to Bajau Laut children and children of foreign plantation workers, who have no access to government schools in Sabah.
