Malaysian architecture celebrates local ingenuity

Completed Buildings, Sport: The Concrete Cloud, Bayan Club — Offering sports and commercial facilities to the residents of the surrounding area is the Bayan Club, designed by S. Pin Architect. Located on a small hill in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, the project was inspired by the canopy of tropical forests. The architect based the design on the concept of a heavy cloud-form at the top of the building, leaving the spaces below porous and open yet protected from the warm, humid weather. The design also enables natural ventilation in 70 of the building. — Photos from World Architecture Festival
