Sixth Tetra Pak Dairy Index highlights surge in demand for ready-to-drink flavoured milk driven by busy, health and taste conscious consumers.
MALAYSIA has the highest per capita consumption of flavoured milk in South-east Asia at 21.3 litres a year per person compared to around 2.7 litres globally. According to Tetra Pak’s sixth Dairy Index released recently, taste is the key reason most Malaysians drink flavoured milks, including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and coffee. Flavoured milk accounts for 41% of liquid dairy consumption, compared to 21% for white milk and 20% for baby and toddler milk.
