Keeping families safe, healthy and happy

Parenthood is a fulfilling journey, but it is not without its challenges, especially with the ‘new normal’ and the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic still looming over the world.

Alongside grappling with the difficulties of parenting in modern times, parents also have to worry about keeping their children safe and healthy - now more than ever.

For parents working from home during the pandemic, juggling between housework and baby care becomes even more challenging. Getting daily essentials and other supplies - healthcare, hygiene, household and baby products - remains a priority, but they need to balance this against maintaining work productivity while caring for their children.

With that in mind, Kao Malaysia is giving parents a helping hand when it matters most and championing hygiene to help families protect and keep their homes safe through its Welcome to My Modern Parenthood (WtMMP) campaign 2020.

“People are putting the safety and health of their families in the first place, knowing that household sanitisation and personal hygiene must come hand in hand to effectively fight off Covid-19, ” said Kao Malaysia president Ito Hirofumi.

He added that the trusted brand has purpose-built solutions to help parents find greater peace of mind, such as Magiclean, which can keep the household clean and well sanitised to ensure it is free from germs, bacteria and viruses.

Part of the campaign is the 5th edition of the 2019 Malaysia Book of Records winning parenting guidebook, titled ‘The Secret To My Modern Parenthood’ (TStMMP).

It also highlights the importance of using the right household and baby care solutions to make parenthood effortless as they keep their home and living environment clean with uncompromised hygiene in mind, so that everyone can stay protected.

He shared, “We are motivated by the true value of bringing to life a happy family that is supported by results driven home care and baby care solutions with a cohesive family bonding in mind.

“We want parents to live a meaningful family life defined by more bonding time and less housework constraints. Through the parenting guide and actual experiences shared by aspiring parenting experts, we want to educate modern parents on the tips and tricks of living a quality life that starts from within the household, with the best home care and baby care solutions in place.”

Moreover, Positive Parenting management committee chairman and Asia Pacific Pediatric Association secretary-general Datuk Dr Zulkifli Ismail said that while children have lower risk of mortality from Covid-19, it would be best to err on the side of caution and avoid exposing children to unnecessary risks.

He cautioned, “It is not advisable to visit newborns or for them to receive visitors, especially with Covid-19 still running rampant. Use the internet to have a ‘virtual’ visit instead, as this is much safer for everyone.”

He also advised parents to pay attention to the importance of personal hygiene and home cleanliness, as it helps to minimise any possible danger to newborns, infants or toddlers that may be caused by cross-contamination.

“Don’t forget that Covid-19 is not the only disease that can affect infants or toddlers. Additionally, make it a point to stress the importance of hygiene to younger children. Brief and prepare your toddler on the do’s and don’ts beforehand, ” he added.
