Regular hikes strengthen the body's immune system, reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and lower blood sugar levels, according to Dr Tobias Erhardt, director of physiotherapy studies at the Karlsruhe campus of the SRH University of Applied Sciences for Health in Germany.
