The heart and lung capacity and strength of transgender women exceed those of their cisgender peers, even after years of female hormone therapy, but they are lower than those of cisgender men.
This was indicated by the first study of its kind, published online on Oct 4 (2022) in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
