Calling all Sudoku enthusiasts: The Championship returns to Malaysia

The annual Sudoku Championship is here again, after a three-year break due to the pandemic.

This instalment – the 11th Malaysia Sudoku Championship – will be held on Dec 18 (Sunday) at KL Gateway Mall in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. The venue is next to Universiti LRT station.

There will be six competition categories to choose from: Junior (for those aged 14 and below), Senior (ages 55 and above), Open (open to all, irrespective of age), Expert (open to all, irrespective of age), Family (open to family members, irrespective of age), and Kakuro (open to all, irrespective of age).

This competition is open to all residents of Malaysia, regardless of age.

Participants must bring along their IC or birth certificate as proof of their age.

The Family category is open only to pairs of siblings, husband/wife, parent/child, grandparent/grandchild.

Entrance fee per category is RM10, payable to the Registration desk on competition day.

To reserve a seat, pre-registration is encouraged, via WhatsApp text or SMS to 012-234 1492 or email: mysudokusquare@gmail.com. Please state your name, IC/birth cert number, mobile number, email address, and chosen category. For Family category, only one name needs to be submitted.

On competition day itself, registration for Junior, Senior and Open categories will start at 9am. For the other categories, registration begins at 10am.

Walk-ins are accepted but subject to availability of seats, and on a first-come-first-served basis.

After registration, the competition kicks off with the Junior and Senior categories, and three groupings for the Open category.

There will be a break for lunch at 12:40pm, followed by the rest of the categories, and a lucky draw and the prize-giving ceremony. The top three winners in each category will be awarded.
