Blackpink's Lisa is no stranger to fashion. After all, she and the other girls of the K-pop group are a powerhouse in the style scene.

Late last month, however, Lisa caused a frenzy among her fans when the campaign for the Acme De La Vie Adlv x Lisa collection was unveiled.

She fronts the streetwear label's promotional visuals and video, which promptly went viral around the world. The clip posted on YouTube now has more than half a million views.

It just shows how influential the 25-year-old star can be – and not just in South Korea or Asia.

The Adlv x Lisa collection has everything from sleek joggers and cut-off hoodies to preppy knitwear, striking denim and printed tees.

Acme De La Vie, meaning “The Pinnacle of Life” in French, is a South Korean label combining a street-casual aesthetic and luxury. Founders Jinmo Goo and Jaemo Goo launched the label in 2017.

With a vision of designing a streetwear brand that was both trend-conscious and affordable, they reportedly only use the highest quality fabrics to ensure an authentic, luxe quality.

Acme De La Vie’s quirky and expressive prints form a playful style that have led to iconic collaborations in the past, such as with The Simpsons, Sesame Street, Disney, Baby Shark and more.

In addition to having worked with Lisa, the label's list of ambassadors also include K-Pop girl group Twice, and other South Korean fashion icons like Song Mino, Sandara Park, Hyun-ah and Dawn.

Global fashion star

Lisa, shortened from Lalisa Manobal (born Pranpriya Manobal), is from Thailand. In 2011, Lisa moved to South Korea, which later led to her emergence as one of the four members of South Korean girl group Blackpink.

She is regarded as the queen of the high-low style, and is often seen dressed in both T-shirts and jeans, as well as chic high fashion pieces.

In 2019, Lisa caught the attention of Hedi Slimane, the creative, artistic and image director of Celine. He named her as his muse at that time. In 2020, Celine picked her as a global ambassador.

From thereon, she frequently attends the Celine runway shows as a front-row guest.

Lisa is associated with other luxury brands too. She has been spotted at their high profile fashion events.

The latest is the Bulgari high jewellery event in Paris. She was photographed with Hollywood stars (and fellow Bulgari brand ambassadors) Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra.

All of the Blackpink girls have a special connection to a French luxury fashion house. Lisa with Celine, Rose with Saint Laurent, Jennie with Chanel, and Jisoo with Dior.

Yet, it was Lisa who became the very first member of the group to make a runway debut. She walked for the Celine Spring/Summer 2022 fashion show.

While we are making comparisons, it should also be noted that Lisa is the most followed Blackpink member on Instagram.

She currently has 79.1 million followers. Jennie, Jisoo and Rose has 67.6 million, 61.6 million and 60.4 million, respectively.

Coincidentally, Celine was named as “the fastest growing luxury and premium brand” in the annual Brand Finance 2021 report – a year after Lisa became the brand ambassador.

Whether it has anything to do with the K-pop sensation or not, that remains for you to make the conclusion.
