New year, new clothes – and accessories. Since most people will be going all out with the festive celebrations this time around, it is only right to look the part.

Various fashion brands have released special Chinese New Year collections to mark the occasion. The rabbit motif is also splashed almost everywhere as it is the zodiac year of the animal.

Here’s a roundup of some of the fashion offerings to get you in a festive mood.

Colour up the festivities

Gucci’s capsule collection for the festive season is all sorts of quirky. Echoing the joyful mood of the occasion, it sees a fanciful use of colour, print and embellishment across ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, accessories, jewellery and timepieces. Of course, the products (and campaign visuals) also feature depictions of the rabbit in every possible manner.

Little happy hops

Pure-cotton T-shirts, trousers, cosy knits and comfortable loungewear are key for the Marks & Spencer curated menswear collection. To set the mood for the festivities, the designs make use of a vividly bold red colour, as well as fun rabbit prints or motifs. Especially cute is the Bugs Bunny range, which welcomes the Year of the Rabbit in good cheer.

Red and gold

Oakley’s Chinese New Year includes iconic sunglass styles like the Frogskins and EVZero. Both come with matte black, adorned with the logo in satin gold. There are also special packaging, including custom microbags, cases and ang pow packets, all adorned with the festive Oakley Rabbit logo.

Look cool for the new year

If you don’t wear shades, how about optical frames instead? Ray-Ban’s designs for Chinese New Year make use of a cool, translucent acrylic frame. Look a little closer and you will notice the rabbit graphic on the temple tip, subtle gold details. To get you in the mood, the frames come with red eyewear cord too.

The timepiece is produced in a limited-edition series of 88 timepieces, and is powered by the UN-815 self- winding movement with 42 hours power reserve.
