Their key features include outdoor maps that can be accessed offline, equipped with information such as heat maps and types of road surfaces.

These features are meant to help its wearer navigate in challenging terrains and during bad weather.

Suunto product head Petri Lehtovirta, in a media statement, says the new smartwatches were meant for those who enjoy outdoor activities.

“Its size, robustness and free maps available wherever you are in the world, tell you everything you need when on your outdoor adventure,” he says.

The watches can track the wearers’ heart rates during physical activities such as running, cycling and swimming.

They are equipped with a 1.4inch screen. The Titanium edition is a tad lighter at 76g while the Stainless Steel one weighs 86g.

These tools allow the wearers to track their training progress, physical recovery and sleep analysis.

According to Lehtovirta, the Titanium and Stainless Steel watches have 85 and 60 hours of battery life respectively when fully charged.

“Even when the tracking feature and notification are turned on, the batteries can last up to 30 days with the help of solar charging.

“This is important when running in the mountains, valleys or in between buildings in a city,” he adds.
