Figrie Dahari is no stranger to the world of showbiz, having taken on many roles as an announcer and presenter for radio and TV, as well as emceeing gigs and starring in ads.
Being in the public eye often translates to upping one’s personal branding, and image being a pertinent part of this, Fiqrie has come into his own when it comes to style.
“Simple, practical, yet not so generic,” is how 41-year-old Fiqrie describes his personal style. “I’m a very practical person. But this doesn’t mean my looks are boring. A good combo of colours and a little dash of something like shoes or hats always sets you apart.”
“Shoes or sneakers for men, are like handbags to women... sometimes a good pair is all you need to set you apart. And being practical means the shoes must be comfortable too,” adds Fiqrie, who has appeared in several ad campaigns including fashion, beauty, F&B and automotive brands.
What is your favourite go-to look?
I like shorts over long pants any day due to the hot weather. Athleisure describes my style best, and to avoid “farmers tan”, I usually choose a long-sleeved top.
Also, some nice sneakers or a socks and sandals combo depending on where I’m heading to... although I long to wear jackets and long coats anywhere I go as if it was autumn.

What are your three must-have style/beauty items?
Beauty: Lip gloss, facial blotter and eye drops (are these considered beauty items?)
Style: White socks, water resistant hoodies (in case it rains) and a stylish bag.
What trend would you most like to see disappear?
I always cringe at the sight of men carrying those flat rectangular clutches, and the look where jackets are hanging off the shoulder.

Who would you consider a style icon and why?
As of late I do like the looks on Timothee Chalamet, the more toned down looks on Harry Styles, and Manu Rios. But I’d always look up to Beckham, Daniel Craig and Tom Ford. Best dressed woman? Victoria Beckham no doubt.
What are three key pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe?
A white relaxed fit T-shirt, a pair of khaki coloured pants, a parka that’s water resistant and not thick for our weather.
