Zenith has recently opened its first boutique in southern Europe, on the island nation of Cyprus.

Located in the city of Limassol, the new store is part of the brand expanding its presence to serve customers around the globe more personally.

The stylishly-designed space is meant to draw and immerse one in the manufacture’s unique world.

Alongside a curated selection of its most exquisite timepieces, are interactive features that showcase the artistry and technical expertise that have been a hallmark of Zenith for over 150 years.

The grand opening was an ideal occasion for the brand to unveil its latest boutique-exclusive edition -- the dazzling Defy Skyline Sapphire which metallic blue dial is embellished by a four-pointed star geometric pattern.

While cool tones inspired by the starry night sky have been a signature of many Zenith boutique editions prior, this new 41mm timepiece takes it to a whole new level with 45 baguette-cut blue sapphires set around its steel dodecagonal bezel. They glint in the light and give the watch a stellar quality.

There is a stop-second mechanism for precise time-setting, and it has a 60-hour power reserve while a date window sits at 3 o’clock. The watch comes with a transparent, sapphire crystal caseback and integrated steel bracelet.

Zenith CEO Julien Tornare says bold architectural lines and robust builds have been a hallmark of the Defy range, the very first model of which dates back to 1969.

“And the Defy Skyline Sapphire is a worthy modern successor.

“We’re thrilled to present this exceptional piece to mark the opening of our first boutique in Cyprus.

“Blue has a deep meaning for Zenith and we wanted to do something special and a little unexpected for this edition of the Defy Skyline,” he says.

“The sapphires’ majestic blue tones really enhance the dial’s night-sky effect and bezel’s unique shape. With the Mediterranean in the backdrop, we couldn’t be happier to unveil it here!” he adds.
