To celebrate the opening of SHH's KL boutique, four special and limited-edition commemorative timepieces are available in collaboration with SHH.
In the Tribute 1 SHH Edition, Armin Storm and Sincere Fine Watches takes a dramatic departure from other Tribute 1 series, with its slender 38mm diameter steel case and crown unusually positioned at 2 o’clock.
The in-house manual-winding AMW21 calibre powers the timepiece while showcasing Armin Strom’s elaborate hand-finishing. The off-entered stainless steel dial, for example, is crafted in salmon, harking to 19th century chronometers.
The dial plate itself is inventively decorated with a sun-brushed finish that appears to move with the light. The Tribute 1’s innovative “motor barrel” is prominently displayed and distinguished by an arbor that turns around the mainspring within the barrel itself.
This presents greater efficiency and conserves more space than other more traditional constructions. The Tribute 1 SHH Edition’s power reserve of 100 hours is also impressive for a single mainspring barrel.
The number of each of the 12 pieces in this limited edition is engraved in the steel caseback and the timepiece comes with a luxurious Grey Alcantara calf leather strap with white stitching in a nod to the very first edition of the Tribute 1, launched in 2021. Priced at RM99,330.
This second collaboration between Sincere Watch Group and Christiaan van der Klaauw revisits one of the most complicated watches in CVDK’s collection, the Planetarium Dunes of Mars from 2022.
This time, the limited edition of eight timepieces showcases a custom bi-metallic case in stainless steel and rose gold. The CVD7386 calibre has a power reserve of 96 hours and runs a stunning GPHG-winning complication: the world’s smallest mechanical planetarium showing the real-time orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn around the sun at six o’clock.
A specially created CVDK signature Aventurine Glass 40mm dial in red, meanwhile, pays homage to the Red Planet. Remarkable? One can expect no less from the only watch atelier in the world dedicated exclusively to the creation of hand-made astronomical watches. Priced at RM269,900.
This special edition of the Balancier Convexe S2 comes in an exclusive shade of khaki green that is visible on its 41.5mm dial and matching straps.
The colour, symbolising growth, renewal and abundance, showcases the split-level movement perfectly with a frosted finish on the horizontal mainplate and escapement platform diffusing light with minimal reflections, making components like its barrel, gear train and large balance wheel easier to discern.
The latter is showcased to full effect, inclined at 30°, and appearing to suspend in mid-air from the openworked hand-polished bridge. This is due to the timepiece’s signature double-curved case on both the front and back that sees its convex profile of the flange plunging along the vertical axis of 12 and 6 o’clock, giving the illusion of the dial sinking away beneath the sapphire crystal, and revealing an unprecedented amount of space beneath the latter.
To accommodate its new size, the timepiece was entirely redesigned incorporating a slimmer movement with a revised dial side and rear. Limited to six pieces with two straps, one in black. Priced at RM1,086,700.
This 25-piece limited edition was created to echo the luxurious interior of the SHH boutique and is the only Antarctique Rattrapante to incorporate solid 18k 5N rose gold for its chronograph counters and peripheral minutes ring.
Powered by the proprietary calibre SHX6 in collaboration with Chronode, the double column-wheel chronograph is entirely visible from the dial and is streamlined to fit into a 42.5mm case. It includes a patented satellite minute train and patent-pending split-second mechanism just below.
A column wheel anchors each half of the movement − one for the chronograph, the other for the split-second mechanism, in a nod to the company’s namesake − the legendary 19th century watchmaker François Czapek who used vertical symmetry as his visual guide.
The timepiece comes with both Czapek & Cie’s iconic bracelet as well as an integrated blue rubber strap. Priced at RM311,850.
