Pavilion Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, now houses TUDOR’s largest boutique in Malaysia.
The 100sqm store is declared as embodying the brand’s bold spirit and its opening further solidifying the partnership between TUDOR and Cortina Watch, cementing the collaboration that began in 2010 across the Southeast Asia region.
The boutique is styled in the brand’s iconic colours – black, red and white – and designed to reflect its innovative timepieces.
Furnished in an elegant and streamlined manner with a variety of unique materials, it provides customers the perfect backdrop for an immersive experience of the brand, while a prominently displayed “Born To Dare” signage proudly echoes the bold vision of TUDOR founder Hans Wilsdorf.
Cortina Watch Malaysia managing director Tay Liam Khoon says this new boutique is a culmination of the company’s longstanding partnership with TUDOR.
“We look forward to strengthening our bond with the brand and its heritage within Malaysia and beyond,” he adds.
A simple ceremony to herald the store’s opening included ribbon-cutting followed by a captivating lion dance that further added an energetic spark to the celebration, much to the delight of the over 150 guests.
The immersive event experience is extended within the boutique, where guests delved into the intricate world of TUDOR watchmaking, particularly focusing on the TUDOR Black Bay, distinguished as a Master Chronometer certified by the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
Delving into the Master Chronometer certification process, guests gained insights into the watch’s key functional characteristics, encompassing precision, magnetic resistance, waterproof feature, and power reserve capabilities.
This educational journey seamlessly transitioned into guests exploring the fascinating production narrative behind each TUDOR timepiece, spotlighting the brand’s dedicated manufacturing facility in Le Locle, Switzerland, which is the cradle of the watchmaking industry.
Completed in 2021, after three years of meticulous construction, this facility epitomises the harmonious blend of traditional watchmaking craftsmanship and cutting-edge production techniques.
At the heart of the event were the TUDOR watchmakers who passionately shared their experiences as well as showcased the intricate artistry and forward-thinking philosophy woven into every TUDOR timepiece.
With a workforce of 150 skilled artisans, the company states that its manufacturing operations in Le Locle underscores the brand’s unwavering commitment to offer the best possible watch at the best possible price to the consumer.
The new boutique showcases iconic collections such as Pelagos, 1926, and Black Bay, alongside the latest addition -- the Black Bay with a burgundy bezel.
Boosting technical advancements and an aesthetic evolution of the emblematic diving watch, it maintains the original proportions of a 41mm case with a slimmer profile and a redesigned crown.
The Black Bay comes fitted with either an entirely satin-brushed three-link steel bracelet or a five-oval-shaped-link brushed and polished steel bracelet, both complete with the TUDOR “T-fit” clasp equipped with a system for rapid length adjustment.
It is neo-vintage in conception, yet its manufacturing techniques, reliability, robustness and the quality of its finish are consistent with today’s more rigorous requirements, says TUDOR.
The boutique is located at Lot 2.23.00, Level 2 of Pavilion Damansara Heights.
