Mother of three, influencer and actress Shima Anuar is always on the go.

From running around with her kids, carrying out errands and attending events to marketing and social media commitments with clients, this 33-year-old Selangor native has her hands full.

Due to her busy lifestyle, dressing to the nines is saved for special occasions, as most days she dresses for comfort – however she is never un-stylish.

“Over the years I have perfected my style,” says Shima. “I would describe it as sleek with simplicity, paired with a hint of elegance and definitely comfortable.”

When she isn’t working with brands as an ambassador, she loves to cook three meals a day for her family and do pilates.

Exercise makes me feel relaxed and helps me to stay calm throughout the day,” says Shima, who has taken a short break from acting since giving birth to her third child. She is currently working with brands that are relevant to her lifestyle such as baby products.

What is your favourite go-to look?

On a daily basis I just love to dress comfortably as I’m always on the go. This would be a pair of chic jeans and usually a white shirt, especially when I’m running errands with my kids.

What are your three must-have style/beauty items?

Fashion-wise, a pair of comfortable shoes, be they sneakers or any type of flats, an edgy suit for when the occasion calls for it and a “quiet luxury” bag – a well-crafted bag made from high-quality materials that is designed to look classic and timeless.

This is the type of bag that is versatile and long-lasting, that complements a wide range of looks, and has a design that is relevant across seasons.

It may cost a little more than other luxury bags but the idea is that this bag will last you years, so look for brands that have a good track record for quality, longevity and durability.

For beauty items, my must-haves are compact powder, lip balm and perfume to spritz on for extra freshness.

What trends would you most like to see disappear?

It depends on one’s personal style but I would say, firstly, in general, trends that are difficult to pull off for various reasons.

This could be due to one’s body shape, also if the clothes aren’t suitable for the weather of the country you live in, cultural reasons (acceptance of particular styles or cuts) and so on.

Secondly, any trends that are uncomfortable, whether a piece of clothing doesn’t sit or fall right, is too tight, rolls up or down or doesn’t stay on – just be comfortable!

Who would you consider a style icon and why?

n terms of local celebrities, former TV host Marion Caunter and actress Scha Alyahya, they really lead the way when it comes to dressing up.

Internationally, that would be actor, producer and director Angelina Jolie, who is opening up a new venture with Atelier Jolie, a place to reuse and repair clothing, as well as tailor sustainably but also stylishly.

What are three key pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe?A comfortable pair of jeans, well-fitting t-shirts and also important would be a timeless coat for travelling.
