New Conquest models by Longines have brought sporty elegance and robustness for everyday use to the collection.
Alongside the introduction of the versatile range is a campaign launched this summer, titled “A Life in a Day”, featuring Longines’ ambassadors of elegance Suzy, Zhao Liying and Barbara Palvin.
Shot in Shanghai (China), Seoul (South Korea) and Budapest (Hungary), the campaign follows the three stars in their everyday adventures while wearing the Conquest with 34mm case and three hands on its dial of pastel colours in green, pink or blue.
Zhao, an actress from China, says: “My Conquest isn’t just a watch, it’s an expression of everyday elegance and confidence.”
It certainly is, as the award-winning actress has been in numerous popular television series since being discovered in 2006 and has also made her mark on the silver screen. She is a fashion icon too, a favourite choice of many magazines to feature on their covers.
South Korean actress and singer Suzy, who began her career in 2010, has also won numerous awards in both her chosen artistic fields.
She is arguably an icon throughout Asia and even the world.
Her philanthropic activities for causes close to her heart include helping flood victims, low-income families and people with incurable illnesses.
“I realise that, for my happiness, it is important to have my own time and to follow my own routine,” Suzy says.
Budapest-born Palvin has been modelling for the world’s most famous designers since 2010.
She has graced the front pages of numerous prestigious fashion magazines and won some of the most coveted awards in her profession, including the Fashion Awards on two occasions.
She is also known for her charitable work helping to improve access to drinking water around the world.
Recently, the supermodel has ventured into films too.
With her mentality of “Who says elegance can’t be fun?”, the new Conquest definitely fits into Palvin’s lifestyle.
The 34mm case, three-hand version’s dial has external snailing that makes the colour more vibrant and intense.
It features 11 applied silver hour-markers and a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
The hour markers at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock as well as the polished rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, thus providing optimum legibility both day and night.
It is available in a number of other colours too, with case options of steel or bi-material. The latter has a rose gold bezel and crown.
These watches come with either stainless steel bracelet with triple safety folding clasp, or a choice of coloured rubber straps with hourglass motifs and double safety folding clasp with micro-adjustment.
Aside from the 34mm size, the new collection includes 30mm and 38mm case diameters for the three-hand version and 42mm for the chronograph.
The 2024 models come in a stainless steel (with or without diamonds) or bi-material case with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, are water-resistant up to 100m and have a transparent screw-on caseback.
The 30mm variant is available with silver sunray dial and gilt indexes, besides blue or green sunray dials or in white mother-of-pearl with diamonds as hour markers.
The 38mm variant’s dial comes in silver, green, blue, black or champagne sunray.
The 42mm chronograph has new variations in silvered matte dials.
The sub-seconds dial at 3 o’clock and the counters at 6 and 9 o’clock, in blue or green, are matched to the ceramic tachymeter bezel.
These models, as well as the champagne-coloured version launched in 2023, have blue, green or black rubber straps with hourglass motif (a reference to the brand’s logo) to match the dial. Alternatively, there is stainless steel bracelet.
All these timepieces are powered by Longines’ self-winding mechanical movements equipped with a silicon balance-spring and new components made of non-magnetic material.
The Conquest line was the first Longines watches to have its name protected, in 1954, by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI).
Over time, the Conquest range has evolved in terms of design and technology while remaining true to its original spirit – a blend of boldness, timelessness and sporty elegance.
