In celebrating the brand’s role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, Omega has unveiled its unique home for the duration of the Paris 2024 Games.
Omega House Paris is set to become a sanctuary for selected guests and athletes, in the heart of the host city.
The watch brand has created a welcoming and captivating space at Hôtel de Poulpry − Maison des Polytechniciens.
The House is spread over multiple floors and is also home to lush outdoor garden terraces.
Omega president and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann says, “We love sharing the Olympic Games with our friends from around the world.
“It’s such a magical experience and Omega House gives us the opportunity to celebrate that time together.”
The special venue will highlight the brand’s 92-year history in the Olympic timekeeping role and embrace the energy of the Games.
During the day, guests can relax in a variety of luxurious spaces, with sports being shown on big screens.
At night, the location will be transformed for a series of VIP events and themed evenings.
The very first Omega House opened its doors at the London Games in 2012, followed by the second edition at Rio 2016.
The House for Paris 2024 will open tomorrow until Aug 10.
Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition
Gold, silver and bronze medals are the most iconic rewards for sporting success.
The Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition incorporates all of the three materials in one collectible design.
It has a 39mm case crafted in Omega’s exclusive Bronze Gold, dial made from Ag 925 silver, and slender hands in 18K Sedna Gold with a special PVD Bronze Gold coating.
The vintage look of the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition is inspired by a classic Omega wristwatch from 1939 which featured the reference “CK 859” on the technical sheets in relation to material and case shape.
The Paris 2024 tribute has the engraving “BG 859” on its caseback, referring to its current material. It also has the stamped Olympic Games Paris 2024 medallion.
Known for its soft pink hue and incomparable corrosion resistance without verdigris-oxidation, Bronze Gold is Omega’s own alloy, enriched with noble elements such as 37.5% gold – hallmarked as 9K – as well as palladium and silver.
Other notable features include the “Clous de Paris” pattern, which has its roots in French craftsmanship, at the centre of the watch’s dial.
A circular brushed pattern decorates the minute track and subdial track, while the dark grey Omega logo is presented in the brand’s heritage style. The same vintage logo is embossed on the watch’s crown.
Completing the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition is brown calf-skin leather strap featuring a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle with a vintage Omega logo in positive relief.
The watch is driven by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926, a manual-winding movement that is a modern tribute to the 30T2 movement used in the past.
A certification card, proving that each watch has passed the Master Chronometer tests set by METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology), is included within the special presentation box that houses the timepiece.
Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024
The Olympic Games Paris 2024 Official Timekeeper marks the moment with a new Speedmaster Chronoscope in the colours of the competition.
The new 43mm series has four models – each presented in the gold, black and white colourway of the Games in Paris.
This includes a version in full stainless steel with an anodised aluminium bezel, and another with a ceramic bezel and 18K Moonshine Gold case and bracelet, which is Omega’s own yellow gold alloy.
Most notable on each watch is the silvery white opaline dial, which has three dark grey timing scales in a 1940s “snail” design. They are a tachymeter, a pulsometer and a telemeter.
It is equipped with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908 / 9909, certified by METAS at the highest standard in the Swiss watch industry.
Other details on the front include blackened subdials, Arabic numerals in 18K Moonshine Gold as well as leaf-shaped hands and subdial hands that are Moonshine Gold-coated.
On the reverse side, the Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 sports a commemorative caseback.
The stamped medallion is crafted with a frosted base and features a mirror-polished Paris 2024 logo, along with the stamped words “Paris 2024” and the Olympic rings. It is a homage to the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.
A further two editions are available in this collection – a stainless steel model on a perforated black calfskin leather strap, and a 18K Moonshine Gold version on a standard black calfskin leather strap.
Seamaster Aqua Terra
A new 41mm watch is inspired by Swedish pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, who has been Omega’s brand ambassador since 2020.
The current world champion won a gold medal in Tokyo Olympics, then broke the world record three months ago – the 8th time in his career – in Xiamen, China, with a new height of 6.24m.
The watch is crafted in the blue and yellow colours of the Swedish flag and features a number of exclusive details to celebrate Mondo’s achievements.
It has polished and brushed stainless steel case, an integrated strap made from blue rubber with neat stitching in yellow, an Omega logo and polished central links.
On the dial is a subtle twist to the signature Aqua Terra style.
While the blue surface is given a traditional opaline finish with horizontal stripes, the unique tributes to Duplantis include the Seamaster name and quarter-hour numbers in yellow.
The varnished central seconds hand is also in yellow and is crafted with a pole vault inspired shape, featuring Super-LumiNova on top to represent the grip of the pole.
The watch is equipped with a Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre.
