Ushering in the new era with style!

Franck Muller’s collaboration features a two-tone finish and skeletonised dial.

To usher in Sincere Fine Watches’ aptly themed “A New Era” 70th anniversary soiree, the famed luxury horological retailer has embarked on a collaborative journey with some of the most noted watchmaking houses out there.

This has now culminated with the launch of some very exclusive, limited-edition Platinum Jubilee timepieces.

So, from now to November, watch enthusiasts and collectors alike have a unique opportunity to own a tangible piece of horological history and here, we present to you some very outstanding standouts from this endeavour.

1. Franck Muller Vanguard Damascus Steel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

This beautiful timepiece is based on the earlier Franck Muller Vanguard Damascus Steel Skeleton collection, with two main differences.

The Platinum Jubilee Edition’s case is smaller at 43mm, while having a dial flange, hands and crown in 18k rose gold.

This gorgeous two-tone finish completely changes the visual of the watch, making the dial pop.

The watch’s seconds sub-dial is made of a sapphire glass donut-shaped disc instead of metal like in the regular editions.

The liberal use of Damascus steel can be easily felt across the case band.

The skilful use of this tough material is made more impressive as the bridges of the movement is made from the same steel too, with the signature striations also visible and embraced as part of the design.

Meanwhile, the watch’s movement remains the highly skeletonised MVT FM 1740-VS2, also constructed with Damascus steel bridges.

With the skeletonised dial, the movement is visible from the dial side as well as from the caseback.

2. Czapek&Cie Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

Limited to just 38 pieces worldwide, this watch features a two-tone case and bracelet along with a silicon wafer dial.

The case is crafted from stainless steel, complemented by a yellow gold bezel and crown protectors all the way to the bracelet’s link.

The watch has a screw-down crown and offers a water-resistance of 120m.

On the caseback, a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on the inner side reveals the Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th anniversary commemorative logo.

Interestingly, the timepiece’s mirrored dial, created in collaboration with dial maker MD’Art, marks a first for Czapek.

The rhodium-plated indexes on the dial are coated with SuperLumiNova, which emits a blue glow in low-light conditions.

Additionally, the sword-shaped hands are treated with a luminescent material, ensuring that both the indexes and hands are highly visible even in darkness. The watch is powered by the calibre SXH5, an in-house automatic movement with a platinum micro-rotor, operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offering a 56-hour power reserve.

It features an integrated stainless steel bracelet with yellow gold links and a folding clasp.

3. Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

This special edition is essentially the house’ Grand Sport Tourbillon that’s been carefully dressed in a warm and appealing new palette.

The green dial complements the 5N rose gold case, a rich combination that conveys a sense of old-school luxury and refinement, which suits the commemorative occasion well really!

And perhaps somewhat unusual, the new timepiece is presented on a strap instead of a bracelet that has been the norm for most of Laurent Ferrier’s sports watches to date.

The strap makes the watch more wearable – a bracelet would mean a lot of gold – and also ultimately slightly more accessible in terms of price!

In typical Laurent Ferrier style, the quality of execution is high.

A prime example of this is in how the movement is decorated to an impressive level, even though the bridges have a simpler linear brushed finish instead of the more traditional striping.

An interesting aspect of this edition is its striking “petrol green” guilloche dial.

The distinctive wave pattern was chosen to symbolise the South China Sea that borders Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand – the countries where Sincere has historically had a strong presence over the decades.

4. H.Moser&Cie Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Concept MD Purple Enamel Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

This superb timepiece incorporates the house’s outstanding perpetual calendar movement with a beautiful hammered metal grand feu enamel dial in a deep purple with fumé gradations.

The case is in 18k red gold with inserts and the caseback is made of black DLC treated titanium.

The crown is also in DLC titanium.

This then lends to an overall look that is not quite like other two-tone watches, as the black titanium looks quite discreet and contrasts beautifully with the red gold.

It also helps that Moser and Sincere chooses to render the case in matte, instead of making it shiny!

The watch also features a minimalist style dial with no branding and no markings.

The only markings on the dial is a +/= mark at the 9 o’clock position to denote the power reserve, and the month and large date display.

Also, instead of a small hand mounted co-axially below the hour and minute hands to show the month, this information is displayed on a month disc.

So, apart from a very minimalist approach to the power reserve indicator, the dial also has a wealth of unused space going on.

Meanwhile, the leap year information on the watch, which is absolutely essential for setting the perpetual calendar, is shown on the movement side.

5. Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Astral Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition

Limited to just 10 pieces, this very exclusive novelty is actually a new dial variation for Moritz Grossmann’s gorgeous Hamatic collection.

And certainly, the watch’s arresting new dial, paired with meticulously crafted rose gold pear-shaped hands, simply commands attention!

Made of goldstone, this actually marks the watchmaker’s first ever use of this material.

It’s made by mixing crystalline flakes of copper into molten glass, and then cast into the desired form before being cut, cooled and polished.

This results in a dial that has a sense of translucent depth, amplified by the specks of copper across it.

The timepiece’s brilliance continues with its calibre 106.0 movement, visible through the expansive display caseback.

This pays homage to the house’ pioneering 18th-century watchmakers who devised the world’s first self-winding mechanism using a “hammer-style” pendulum.

Now, its contemporary interpretation is featured here with an automatic hammer mechanism operating in both directions through the interaction of the hammer body, head and spring, with a sapphire roller transferring oscillations between the hammer spring and body.
