Tudor launches new Penang boutique in style

The Macalister Mansion in George Town lit up in striking red.

Tudor unveiled its new boutique at Queensbay Mall in Penang, celebrating in style with an exclusive event that combined the brand’s daring spirit with the excitement of professional cycling.

The Tudor Pro Cycling Team, fresh from their impressive showing at the Tour de Langkawi where Arvid de Kleijn secured 2nd in the overall best sprinters’ classification, was present to officiate the opening.

The boutique launch featured athletes from the Tudor Pro Cycling Team – de Kleijn, Maikel Zijlaard, Sebastian Changizi and Rick Pluimers – and began with a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony as well as a traditional lion dance.

The new Tudor boutique, prominently located in the atrium of Queensbay Mall, is a bold showcase of the brand’s signature red and black colours. Blending modern elegance with heritage craftsmanship, the boutique features dedicated displays highlighting Tudor’s ambassadors and partnerships, including David Beckham, Jay Chou and the Tudor Pro Cycling Team.

With rich textures, ambient lighting, and sophisticated materials, the boutique offers a luxurious and immersive experience, allowing the watches to stand out as the true centrepieces of the space.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our enduring partnership with Tudor, a brand synonymous with precision and daring innovation,” says The Hour Glass Malaysia general manager SK Teh.

“Introducing the first Tudor boutique to Penang is a momentous occasion, allowing us to offer our esteemed customers a deeper connection to the brand.

“The presence of the Tudor Pro Cycling Team adds an exciting energy to this unveiling, showcasing the dynamic spirit of Tudor within this beautifully curated space,” he adds.

Following the store opening, guests are escorted to Macalister Mansion, which has been transformed into a Tudor red showcase complete with a display of the Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition, launched earlier this year.

The mansion’s decor highlights the spirit of Tudor and the Pro Cycling Team, creating the perfect backdrop for photos with the team and their competition bikes, which are also prominently on display during the event.

Guests enjoy a lively question-and-answer session where the four professional athletes share about their experiences, including their thoughts on racing in Malaysia and the warm hospitality they encountered throughout the Tour de Langkawi.

They also discuss what it means to embody Tudor’s “Born to Dare” philosophy, emphasising the challenges and excitement of competing in such a dynamic environment.

Visitors are given an exhilarating experience, racing the Crans Montana route as well as taking home exclusive Tudor Pro Cycling Team merchandise.

The grand opening marks a memorable moment for Tudor and its partners, showcasing the brand’s bold and adventurous spirit in every detail.
