For the oldest town in America, St Augustine sure has come a long way in recent years. The town of 14,000 on Florida’s northern Atlantic coast just celebrated its 450th birthday in late summer, and locals mostly have been rejoicing over the town’s cultural growth.
“St Augustine has seen a lot of change during the last five years,” said Greg Goldstein, a bartender at the newly opened Ice Plant Bar and Restaurant, which symbolises the recent leap as much as anything.
