In Part 1 of this two-part story, we read about the writer’s muddy 4WD adventure. Today, we find out more about her ‘survival’ games in the heart of the jungle.
The grassy alcove was backed by hillside jungle and fronted by a crystal clear stream. Two attap structures crudely resembling longhouses with roof, back and sides, but an open front, were to be our dwelling place. Our dining table was constructed of logs and branches crudely tied together. Water supply was from a mountain stream uphill and an outhouse was constructed from canvas and branches, some distance away behind some trees. Think Survivor!
