One cold, crisp morning at Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory, we found ourselves standing outside our hostel waiting for our tour to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon.

A bus with a trailer arrives and a tall and sprightly “Sheila” wearing shorts, a shirt, boots and bush hat popped out, introduced herself as Nicole and packed us into the bus.
