Chocolate Museum
Who needs a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s “Chocolate Factory” when you can go to a Chocolate Museum in Selangor? Located in Kota Damansara, this Chocolate Museum has interactive digital displays and artworks, state-of-the-art equipment to make chocolates during fun demonstrations, and more. There are also over 100 chocolate and candy brands sold at the souvenir mart.
Your child (or you) can learn to be a chocolatier too, by signing them up for a Chocolate Lab session.
Jump Street Asia
Jumping, bouncing and rolling around in a hall fitted with nearly a hundred trampolines is ... fun! At Jump Street Asia in Petaling Jaya, there are trampolines that are set up into a basketball court (complete with a hoop so that you can shoot baskets while jumping), a dodgeball court and others. Located in 1Utama Shopping Centre in PJ, this family edutainment park features a playground and a “play city”. Children get to “work” and explore in a play bakery, fire station and supermarket, just like in the real world. There is also a karaoke section, a gaming zone, a party room and a cafe.
Amverton Riverine Splash
This newly-opened water park is located in Selangor’s Pulau Carey, which is about an hour’s drive fom KL city. The Amverton Riverine Splash has over a dozen attractions for kids of all ages. You can also stay in the area as there is a hotel adjacent to the park.
FOODtree Restaurant
This dinosaur-themed restaurant can be found in Glenmarie Shah Alam and is a fun place for a kids’ party. Their menu features amusingly-named dishes like Dinosaur Trap (grilled chicken), Nest of Dinosaur (spaghetti bolognese) and Telurex (Milo shaved ice).
Geng’s Corner
Here’s another eatery that you can check out, especially if you or your kids are fans of one of Malaysia’s top cartoons, Upin & Ipin. Opened by Les’Copaque, the studio that created the popular animated series, Geng’s Corner in Shah Alam serves local, Western and Thai dishes. The shop is decorated with Upin & Ipin posters and merchandise.
De-Art Hotel Shah Alam
Inspire your kids to be the next big artist at at De-Art Hotel in Shah Alam. Each room has its own specific art theme based on movies, celebrities and fairytales, done in a range of art styles from abstract to fantasy.
Semenyih Eco Venture Resort & Recreation
