The dream to travel the world may seem like a far-fetched idea for many, even more so now that the cost of living has gone up. But if it does fit your budget, then why not go for it?
One of the best ways to do this is to go on a cruise with sailings longer than 100 days – yes, these do exist – and they stop in multiple countries and destinations.
Here are five of today’s longest cruise sailings in the world that you can check out.
The Ultimate World Cruise by Royal Caribbean
Spending two-thirds of the year on a cruise adventure around the world sounds fabulous. The Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise takes passengers on a whopping 274-day journey across 60 countries, covering all seven continents.
The voyage will begin in December 2023 from Miami, Florida in the United States and return in September 2024. The package is also available in smaller segments, where you get to choose from four voyages of over 60 nights each.
Passengers aboard the Serenade Of The Seas get to visit more than 150 destinations and attractions while on the cruise. Some of these include the cool Blue Lagoon in Iceland, the mysterious Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the ancient Great Wall of China.
Around The World In 180 Days by Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises’ Around The World In 180 Days is exactly what it says: a cruise that goes around the globe in 180 days. The voyage covers some 90 destinations and attractions, including Bali in Indonesia, Hawaii in the US, Coquimbo in Chile, Sao Paulo in Brazil and Dakar in Senegal.
In fact, up to 100 Unesco World Heritage Sites are on the list of destinations you can visit on this cruise.
The Insignia ship will also sail to Antarctica, cruising by Admiralty Bay and Paradise Bay, and stopping at Half Moon Island to see some penguins.
This voyage will begin in mid-January 2024 and end in July 2024; passengers will embark and disembark in San Francisco, California.
Viking World Voyage I Cruise by Viking Cruises
Discover stunning cities and historic treasures on this 180-day world voyage that sails from Fort Lauderdale in Florida in December 2024. The ship returns to the US (New York) in June 2025, just in time for the summer holidays.
The voyage covers 37 countries across five continents, and includes 83 guided tours in selected destinations. Some of these places are Cozumel in Mexico, Cartagena in Colombia, Leon in Nicaragua, the Bay of Islands in New Zealand, Phillip Island in Australia, Bali and Semarang in Indonesia, Rhodes in Greece, Kirkwall in Scotland and Aqaba in Jordan.

There are 10 segments on the itinerary, beginning with the first stop in Hawaii, US and ending with 10 stops in Portugal, France and Jersey during the final two weeks of the voyage. There is also an option to go on a pre-cruise sail to Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico, before landing in California to begin the main cruise.
