Having been designated as the National Family Month since 2012, November is the perfect time for Malaysians to seize the opportunity to strengthen family bonds by travelling with their loved ones.

This year’s National Family Month celebration, organised by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the two-day Kasih Madani Expo, which was held at Dataran Putrajaya on Nov 4 and 5.

Themed “Keluarga Harmony, Negara Madani” (Harmonious Family, Civil Country), it aims to encourage Malaysians to create stronger bonds and instil family values, creating a harmonious society that will in turn contribute to nation-building.

In conjunction with the National Family Month celebration, Tourism Malaysia has collaborated with the Malaysian Association of Themepark & Family Attractions (MATFA) to offer 11 Pakej Cuti-Cuti Keluarga or Family Holiday Packages.

“Tourism Malaysia hopes that every family will take this opportunity to travel within the country and create memories with loved ones through the Pakej Cuti-Cuti Keluarga exclusive offers,” Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar, director-general of Tourism Malaysia, said in a statement.

Expressing hopes that the offers will in a way support the government’s focus on bolstering family institutions while simultaneously boosting the domestic travel industry, he added that through spending more time while travelling together, parents can form a closer bond with their children and instil good values in them.

Until this Nov 30, a total of seven theme park operators are currently offering special packages for domestic travellers. The packages offered are valid until June 30, 2024.

Among the participating theme parks are Sunway Lagoon (Camp Out!), SplashMania Water Park Gamuda Cove, The TOP Penang Theme Park, Ripley’s Adventureland and Jungle Gym Genting Highlands, Wet World Water Park Shah Alam, and Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort.

Additionally, 86 travel businesses are offering discounted packages via the Go Tifi website (www.gotifi.com), a one-stop Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution platform for online travel bookings.

More information on the holiday packages offered can be found on the Tourism Malaysia website (www.malaysia.travel).
