Building stuff from toy blocks is a fun pastime, but if you’re particularly skilled at it, why not turn it into more than just a hobby?
If you are creative, outgoing and passionate about Lego, possess building expertise and have a background in STEM fields such as engineering and urban planning, this just might be your chance to start a career with Legoland Malaysia Resort.
The Johor Baru-based theme park has recently launched a search for a Master Model Builder – the first ever in Malaysia.
“If you live and breathe Lego and are excited to inspire others, this is your dream job,” C.S. Lim, divisional director of Legoland Malaysia Resort, said in a statement.
He expressed hope to see talented Malaysians applying for the role, adding, “This is a chance to turn their love for Lego into a fulfilling career, become part of our vibrant community, and help shape the future of play in Malaysia.”
There are two steps to applying to become a Master Model Builder. First, submit your resume along with a video that showcases your building skills based on one of the themes provided by the organiser.
The second step is only applicable for shortlisted candidates, who will be invited to the theme park for a special in-person interview and building assessment. Here, the one who impresses the most will earn the coveted title.
At this point you may be wondering, what exactly is a Master Model Builder? If you think that it merely involves stacking one Lego piece on top of another to create a masterpiece, you’re only partially correct.
What you will really be doing as a Master Model Builder can be broken down into four parts. The first is you will get to design and build incredible models that will mesmerise Legoland visitors. The second is you will be leading the creation of Lego installations for events held outside as well as inside the theme park.
The third entails conducting engaging workshops that will ignite children’s – and adults’ – passion for creativity and STEM. Last but not least, you will play a dual role as an ambassador and social media star, by creating fun and educational content and becoming the face of Legoland Malaysia Resort on social channels.
More information on being the nation’s first Master Model Builder can be found on Legoland Malaysia Resort’s official website (legoland.com.my) and social media channels.
