Liao is excited about Pos Malaysia’s event celebrating heritage, community building and environmental responsibility.

After years of championing healthy living through marathons, Pos Malaysia Bhd is taking the lead with its very own running event.

Previously a partner in events like Kuching Marathon, Borneo Marathon and The Music Run, the national post and parcel service provider will debut its Pos Malaysia Run on Sept 29 at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur.

The run aims to provide participants with a lively experience while engaging in activities along the routes.

“We are proud to introduce Pos Malaysia Run 2024, our first-ever signature running event that celebrates our heritage while embracing a sustainable future,” said Pos Malaysia chief marketing, communications and sustainability officer Fiona Liao.

“This exciting initiative, with the tagline ‘Jom Laju For Fun!’, combines our commitment to community building and healthy living with a focus on environmental responsibility.

“We invite runners of all ages to join us for a fun-filled day as we strive towards a healthier you and a greener future,” she said.

Lending a green touch to the event, finisher medals will be made from recycled plastic zip ties and metal.

To reduce carbon emissions, race packs will be delivered to participants, eliminating the need to drive to a collection point.

Additionally, on race day, Pos Malaysia’s electric bikes will be used by marshals and for operational support.

Winners’ medals, designed in the form of stamps, will be made from recyclable materials.

The event features three distances – 5km, 10km and 15km.

Those aged seven and above can participate in the 5km run, while the longer distances are for runners 18 or older.

There are also Malaysian, Open and Veteran categories.

Pos Malaysia Run 2024 will run from 6am until noon.

Entry fees are set at RM75 for the 5km run, RM80 (10km) and RM85 (15km) until Aug 11.

Registration is open until Aug 29 via www.racexasia.com
