Fisheries Dept attributes bountiful catch of sardines in Sabah as a seasonal occurrence

KOTA KINABALU: Fishermen along Sabah’s west coast have been experiencing a bumper harvest of sardines for nearly a week with price for the fish plunging as low as RM1 in some places.

Sabah Fisheries Department director Datuk Rayner Stuel Galid said the bountiful catch of fish locally known as basung, tamban and kembura was a seasonal occurrence.
