A FEW decades ago, the Noor Jahan Bakery was a humble shop that was filled to the brim with loaves of freshly made bread ready for sale.

Widely touted as one of the first three bakeries to open in Ipoh, it is now the oldest bakery in the city since its establishment in 1902 – but things have not quite been the same since.
