Sarawak to focus on eight key areas


Masing says the task is to lay the foundation so that rural development will continue in future.

KUCHING: The state government will focus on eight key areas encompassing infrastructure, basic amenities and community wellbeing in its rural transformation plans.

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Masing said the areas were rural roads, rural electricity and water supply, rural health services, rural flood mitigation, broadband connectivity, rural schools, communities affected by hydro projects and effective environment enforcement, with each one chaired by a state Cabinet member.
