Plan to develop Bangsar open space gets flak

This 0.2ha land in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar reserved for open space is now earmarked to become a commercial development much to the displeasure of residents in the area.

BANGSAR residents are up in arms as the authorities have accepted an application for a commercial development on land that had been reserved for open space.

It is learnt that in 1977, Bangsar Baru developer Eng Lian Enterprise Sdn Bhd surrendered the 0.2ha land – then known as Lot 2262, off Jalan Maarof – to the Federal Territories Land and Mines Office as part of the requirement for open space in their development site.
