TRAVELLING for more than 30 hours for the first time in his life, executive chef Alain Mendiola could not wait to land in Malaysia and head down to the Petronas Twin Towers which he had seen only in magazines and documentaries.

In fact, the Cuban chef from the award-winning Hotel Saratoga in Havana convinced his driver to veer off to the majestic towers en route to The Westin Kuala Lumpur.
