ASTRO BAR is celebrating The Macallan Whiskies’ 200-year legacy with “A Journey Through Time”, where guests can savour the Double Cask range through past, present and future iterations of the Boulevardier cocktail until July 30.
The classic Boulevardier is made with bourbon or rye whiskey Campari, sweet vermouth and orange twist.
However, the Boulevardier cocktail with Macallan highlights the spirit’s oakiness in selected American and European sherry seasoned oak casks, bringing out a hint of sweetness.
The Asam Boi Mary takes inspiration from a local hawker drink.
The cocktail is a tribute to the craftsmanship behind Macallan Double Cask whiskey.
Astor Bar also continues to have its “Art of Drinking” menu which features creative cocktails that represent New York’s five neighbourhoods – Lower Manhattan, Midtown, Upper Manhattan, East Side and West Side.
Each part of the city is represented by the following cocktails – A Ritual Fizz, Royal Palladium Fizz, Duke of Jazz, Roselle’s Julep and Calle Catorce – respectively.
This year, the West Side is represented by Calle Catorce, which comprises a mix of sous vide cheese gin, Manzanilla Sherry, mezcal and tonic water.
Globally, each St Regis hotel has its own take on the classic Bloody Mary cocktail.
At St Regis Kuala Lumpur, the Asam Boi Mary takes inspiration from a local hawker drink – lime asam boi.
It combines asam boi-infused vodka, tomato, calamansi, paprika, Sarawak black pepper, cili padi as well as hot sauce for a delightful kick.
