ON OCT 1, residents in some parts of Klang had to brace themselves during an afternoon thunderstorm, which they described as similar to “typhoon-like winds”.

It came without warning and the messages telling people to stay safe indoors started flooding in via WhatsApp chat groups after 2pm.
