Clogged drains main cause of floods


Residents in the area sometimes attempt to fill in damaged portions of the drains, inadvertently adding to the obstruction of the overall drainage system.

FLASH floods in Jelapang’s town centre are a common occurence that have been happening over the past few years.

Many of those interviewed by MetroPerak said they felt that the drainage system in the area was the main cause for the flooding as many of drains were clogged with sediment and garbage.
