KUCHING: There is a need for greater public awareness on seeking treatment early for mental illness, says the Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Ministry.

“Very often cases that go to the doctors are at quite late stages of mental illness. They usually look elsewhere first for help, such as going to the bomoh.
