GELANG PATAH: Loosely translated, “gelang patah” means broken bracelet in Malay, the name is believed to have been given by the first Johor mentri besar Datuk Jaafar Muhammad.

The story goes that Jaafar and his wife were exploring the area together with his entourage on a boat, and the bracelet he was wearing broke when he arrived at a particular spot.
