PLANS are under way to draft a by-law to make it compulsory for automated external defibrillators (AED) to be installed in public places in Penang.

State Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said the move was vital in saving lives, adding that it would come under the jurisdiction of the Penang Island City Council and Seberang Prai Municipal Council.
