SIBU: Effective January 1, 2020, all supermarket operators in Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) area are only allowed to give out biodegradable and recyclable bags to their customers.

Council chairman Clarence Ting said supermarkets will charge their customers 20 sen per bag when they requested for it.
