Malay lion dance troupe in the limelight

SK Jerong lion dance troupe was formed last year under Terengganu’s Cultural and Arts association as part of its cross-cultural programmes.

MARANG: With their lively movements, great drum beats and almost perfect acrobatic feats, spectators would be forgiven for thinking SK Jerong lion dance troupe is made up of Chinese pupils.

Often the spectators are pleasantly surprised upon learning that all seven members of the group are Malay pupils from the school located in a village about 25km from Kuala Terengganu.
