Foundation helps low-income families in holistic manner


Ubal, who is from the Orang Asli community, has significantly improved his income from operating a burger stall near his house in Baling, Kedah.

PETRONAS Foundation is assisting 3,400 low-income families in targetted districts across Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu through the foundation’s Touch of Hope -– Mekar Programme (Sustaining Basic Economy for the People).

The programme, which is being rolled out in phases over a period of 24 months, aims to address poverty at the grassroots with the provision of basic needs such as water, electricity and food.
